Miller Time!

For the CT NEMBA Chapter Meeting ride, we decided to meet a Miller's Pond in Durham and I was really pumped to do two laps on the XC trail. Earlier trail reports from last week said the XC trail was a mud fest and to stay away. After checking with the head trail gnome who said go for it and we did, or at least wanted to. I must have left my A Game at home because I was a nervous wreck on the trail. Not to mention my rear brake felt like it was grinding like there was no pad left (checked when I got home and there's plenty of pad) but everything else, will there is not much else on a single speed, was working great.
My legs had the right tightness to them that told me they wanted more but the first mile on the trail really disrupted my confidence. I have ridden this trail numerous times but I forgot that this section was a little more stuntrified than the rest of the trail. I think I was feeling a bit naked without some extra padding.

Glenn, down by the river, could have used a little extra protection. He fell and rolled down this embankment and into the stream. He was pretty scratched up and had a few cuts that he'll feel more of in the morning but he was able to finish the ride.

Yes, hardcore! Way to be, and way to keep riding!
