Took apart the headset on the Dawes last night and sure enough all the grease was gone on those bearings were bare beaver! I soaked everthing in kerosene, wiped them down and repacked everything in copious amounts of Paul's bearing grease. Now the bars turn really smooth and don't sound like my sons grinding their teeth at night. Now all I need are mustache bars, barcons, and fenders and my classic English touring bike will be complete.
