The East Coast Umbrella Lady

 Sep 13, 2024

Saw this woman walker coming down Lebanon Street in Hanover at the end of my ride today. It was a warm day and I thought the umbrella was cool.  The Appalachian Trail goes right through the center of Dartmouth College, so you see a lot of through hikers and day hikers in the area. The way college kids are these days sometimes it hard to tell the difference between a through hiker and a college kid.

Today's ride was more about exploring and riding up Slayton Hill in South Lebanon.

It was a hill to be reckoned with! It started out steep, then flattened out and then got steep again.

On the backend, there were some nice rollers

and then a nice descent back to RT 4,

which was paved recently.

Of course, I had to add a little Rail Trail into the mix.

The Hanover Band was playing today.

I rode the back way through Hanover to Etna which is becoming a staple for me because there are fewer cars

and it's a gradual ascent before a blistering downhill into Hanover proper and Dartmouth College.

Looks like Pickleball has gone collegiate.
