30 Days of Biking - Day 26

200 Miles for the week!

Went shopping today and scored some toilet paper! Bought some beer, too, $20 for 30 pack!  That's $1.50 for a can of beer.  Can't beet that.

When I looked at my miles for the week I saw that I had 174 miles so I picked the flattest route on Zwift Watopia and road that while listening to a book on tape.

Birthday Dirt

For my birthday this year I planned on riding my age in miles and I designed a mixed terrain route that was exactly 55 miles. However, 15 minutes prior to driving to Exit 14 in Southbury from where the ride was starting, Gavin texted me and ask if I could reverse the route so that we would initially end up at OOF (Ovens of France). I redid the course on Ride with GPS, sent out the link and headed out.

Blue Ribbon Snowshoeing

Had a little time to kill midday on Tuesday so I went for a little snowshoe at Upper Paugussett State Forest.  It was an interesting day, partly cloudy with a little wind out of the northwest.  When the sun went behind the clouds it was cold but when it was out, it was nice and warm.

Fred, yeah that's me!

Leaving the office today someone wrote this on the back of my car.  I won't deny it.  In fact I am proud of it.  especially after watching this video from NSMB.com on now to be Road Biker.  At 0:30 you might recognize a brand of bike that I once owned and some guys from East Hampton, CT that had a piece of that action, I think.  Might explain why they went belly up.

Not only do I have the Fred covered, but I got commuter, ranndoneur, and gravel racer, too!  They missed hipster, unless coffee shop poser is supposed to cover that label.

Spent another evening riding the trainer only I gave myself a little more incentive, a blue ribbon incentive!  Some guys have training videos or watch past bike races.  I prefer watching the TV programs that I missed earlier this week on Internet TV.  Hopefully, this weekend it's going to warm up to over 20 degrees and I plan on getting some serious riding in.  Might event take the Qball out on a mountain bike ride!

Happy Knobbies

Nothing makes the knobbies happier than letting them get more time in the dirt.  I hit up Upper Paugussett last Wednesday (I think this is a lost post from the Blogger Outage) and Gussy Trail for a quick RAW.  Spent some time pre-ride adjusting the rear brake when I should have been changing the tires for the Winsted Woods Race this weekend.  I will be heading over to Huntington for the Saturday Morning Eye Opener for a test ride on a Exiwolf upfront and a Nanoraptor in the rear.  The Rampages are good all around tires but they are not race tires.

The diSSent breaks 100 miles

Nothing like a cold PBR to help celebrate
