Police Academy Roubaix

It was fortunate for Ann & I to be late to the slopes this morning because there was an electrical issue at the top of North Ridge and the mountain was closed so we headed back to Rutland and I hopped on the bike to ride some dirt roads out in Pittsford.

There was snow in the foothills of the Greens and it was quite cold while riding.

I was wearing a base layer, thermal layer, short sleeve jersey, microfleece riding jacket and a vest.

I found a bunch of dirt roads that weren't listed on RWGPS as unpaved

with some great views of the Taconics

and a lot of climbing.

I found the Vermont Police Academy which is housed in an old Sanatorium.

Heading back to Rutland I rode on Corn Hill Road

which had some nice views of the Green Mountains

but not a road I would want to ride in the winter.

It was actually snowing in Killington this afternoon, too,

and I got some flurries, too.

Rutland is the home of Julia Dorr.

There's a road named after her, too.
