Rutland Gravel Night Ride

I spent Friday running errands around Rutland and was going to ride at Pine Hill in the afternoon but a thunder storm ripped through the area and stayed in and cleaned up the basement.  Ann got home from work around 7:15 PM and she really wanted to ride so we headed out before the sun had even set at 8:00 PM.

We decided to try a night gravel ride so we headed up Quarterline Road and just caught the setting sun.

There was a big change to the temperature after the storm rolled through and it was quite chilly this evening.

We continued to climb up Quarterline as it got darker

and the moon was nearly full.

The money shot before the big descent on Quarterline came through again.

Descending Quarterline was really sketchy because it got wash boarded with the rain storm.

We descended Walker Mountain, which was really eerie and then rode across to Middle Road.

On last night's ride I missed this opportunity for a good cow but shot so I took it tonight.

It was really foggy on this side of the Otter Creek River Valley.
