Our last activity at Lake Saint Catherine was a paddle on the lake. After our mountain bike ride and lunch, we launched our tandem kayak and went for a paddle around the northern part of the lake and into Lily Pond.
The channel into Lily Pond was narrow
and sheathed with lily pads - hence the name?
But the channel was big enough for a pontoon boat.
Then we headed out into the bigger area of the lake
Looking southwest to Saint Catherine Mountain
The high clouds made the temperature really nice
What a house perched overlooking the lake
And so many stairs down to lake!
This is called the Lighthouse.
Some interesting mountains further south that could be Scott Mountain to the left and on the right Burt and Indian Hill
Looking down the lake due south. This the deepest part of the lake, 65+ feet and apparently there’s Lake Trout! Need to bring the boat up next spring and do some fishing.
Our kayak
It was a 3+ mile paddle
