Bonjour!

After a 3 year hiatus, due to family planning, my father and I headed
back to Canada for our annual father and son fishing trip.

The trip started Friday evening when we left Newtown around 6:30 PM
and drove to Plattsburg, NY in about 6.5 hours. We made really good
time.

Up early the next morning, because you never know with the border
crossing but there was only one car ahead of us.

We entering Quebec, it always reminds of the highway that you used to
have to take from Hanover, Germany to West Berlin, traveling through
what used to be known as East Germany. Except, it seems the highway
has been paved. I don't know what it is, whether it's the bridges,
the shoddily paved highway, or just the sparseness between the border
and Pont Champlain (the Bridge over the Saint Lawrence).

You will note, in the picture below, the price of gas is $1.47 per
liter, which is roughly $5.88! Yikes!

Gone Fishing!

The annual father and son fishing trip commences this week.

Heading up to Canada and turning my wife into a fisherman's widow. I owe her big time!

If all goes well, I might try blogging our fishing progress.

Apparently the fishing camp we will be staying out is supposed to have WiFi and a broad band connection. When we were up there last, the only form of two way communication they had at Deer Horn Lodge was via microwave radio/phone. Pretty nifty - takes AT&T. Rates stink but at least it's easy to call home every once in awhile.

The Friday Fix

Found this 1988 Rockhopper fixed gear mtb with 700c wheels and a centerpull brake on Bike4More, a Cali, Bike Commuter Blog. The bike belongs to Jon Grinder.

Email posting test: Fishing Pictures

I am going fishing next week and I am told that there might be internet access up there, so I wanted to see what happens when you email posts. Looks like it works!

I have another blog, my original blog called EatSleepfish, but the Blog Powers that be think it's a spam blog and nothing will post through email - shows up as a draft and I want to be speedy as possible because where I am going it very well could be some sort of dial up connection.

These are two of my three kids on a little fishing outing with their grandfather, aunt, and uncle (not pictured).
