Spring Double Header

I got in line before Superstar started spinning this morning and I brought my mountain bike because today was Killington's Mountain Bike Park pre-season opener.

Pete was working the entrance to Superstar Six-Pack this morning

Today's greeter at the lift looked like Keenser, a Roylan, from the Star Trek reboot.

The grooming crew did an outstanding job

preparing Superstar for the memorial day weekend.

There was even a strip on the Headwall.

It was getting bumpy fast

and my knees weren't going to last much longer

so I called it quits after 5 runs.

Earlier this morning, as I was driving up Route 4 from Rutland I realized I forgot my cycling shoes. I happened to have a bag of shoes that I was bringing with me to Sandy Hook for the latter part of the Memorial Day weekend for boating so I grabbed my Penny Loafers because they had what I thought would be the grippiest soles for my pedals.

Here's a good view of Superstar from the Snowshed Chair

Closer up view

My favorite view looking down Yodeler.

I kept my lederhosen on from skiing and they pretty good for downhill mountain biking. I wouldn't wear them for trail riding, though.  The trails were really sweet, almost virginal, as trail crew smoothed out some of the rough surfaces here and there. There were a couple of wet spots on Roller, though, but overall, it was a great time.
