I convinced Ann to ride the Bloomin’ Metric with me. This would be Ann’s longest ride to date with me and the first time in14 years I am not riding with my father.
It was the usual route, north along the Sound through Southport and then cut inland through western Fairfield and then climb up Bronson Hill and then came a kicker on Burr Street.
Ann had no trouble with the climbs.
And her spirits were still high.

After one more climb up North Street we came to Redding Road where our route turned south
and the 13 mile descent, with a few more kickers, back to Sherwood Island
Ann took a break from the Topstone for this ride and rode her Cannondale Synapse.
Final leg into Sherwood Island and the completion of our longest ride together.
We got Number One’d by this R56 from New York.
