Fest Bier Roubaix

 Oct 6, 2026

It was a perfect fall day in Vermont and after job hunting all morning and then cleaning up around the house I decided that I needed to get out on the bike. Ann wasn't feeling up to a ride but her brother, Bruce, on the other hand was.

We headed out on the usual route to Wallingford down Creek Road and it was just a stellar day.

Foliage is starting to peak.

There's a pumpkin stand on the outskirts of Wallingford.

White Rocks was looking resplendent today.

I took Bruce up my new gravel addition to out classic Wallingford Roubaix route.

After a pint of Lawson's Fest Bier at the Wallingford Village Market we rode up Old Pine Rd to take the trail that goes to East Road.

According to the State GIS it's a valid Right of Way.

Bruce handled it nicely.

Some more fall foliage

Gratuitous cow picture - its Vermont!

We stopped in at the Lower Clarendon Gorge, aka Devil's Gorge.

I had to move my two remaining cans of the Fest Bier from my rear pockets to the frame pack.

Bald Hill (l) and Round Top (r) from the airport

Killington Peak (l)

The haul.
