Nothing like a gratuitous cow pic to start the ride
3.2 miles into the ride and we hit First Dirt!
The real fun began not long after the route got dirty
and it stayed that way to the first rest stop
at Buckland Center
and we just kept climbing
and climbing
till we got to the back side of Berkshire East.
It flattened out a bit
then came the East Road descent.
There was a route deviation due to the covered bridge on Route 8A being closed
and the new route had some spectacular views
The Deerfield River is amazing.
Getting some new Wandrer miles on this ride!
I didn't cramp on the climb to Rowe because I was taking Sport Legs.
Sandy Whittlesey
Rob Minogue, venerable member of our D2R2 crew.
More cows!
Griswold Steel Bridge
Here comes the Patten!
Made it without stopping and no cramps!
Totally worth the view
My second Surly Cross Check proved it's worth on this ride.
Heading down the other side from Patten Hill.
Rob, Will and I decided to take the bail out
which turned out to be longer had we stayed on the regular route.
We made it and before it got dark.
Cheers!
