Tour d'Otis

Wanted to ride Otis last year but never got to it but Bill Boles graciously led me
on a 7 mile tour of some awesome Cape Cod singletrack!

Bill Boles

Rode the half pipe and the second highest point on the Cape which has some
sick downhills coming off of it!  Coming back on Friday for more singletrack goodness!

The Falmouth 40

I take a selfie and guess what I discover?
Left home without a helmet!

Got up late and decided not to ride to the canal again.
Found a nice bike route in Mashpee with share the road signs

This route through the north part of Falmouth seems popular with cyclists

I love this hill by the light house.
There was a triathlete there with blown tires

It was pretty windy during the whole ride and it seemed I always had a headwind

Despite the wind it felt great riding along the water

I finally understand the usefulness of a cycling cap today!

Lunch, a bit later, was excellent!

Recovery Day: Provincetown

I played beach volleyball after my ride to the canal and discovered that I am not 16 anymore!

Drove up to P-Town went to dunes

It's now a family tradition

Another mile or so and we could be at the water ... won't happen

Center of Provincetown is still a ways off

A fixed gear Jake the Snake - someone in P-Town has some class!

Enough said!

Cape Cod Canal 100K Ride

Waited for the rain to stop before heading out

Tested out a new top tube pack and bell using a bar extender.
Everything worked great and the top tube bag will be excellent for commuting!

The Shinning Sea Bikeway was devoid of people

It got wet again

Finally met another cyclist who I passed on the way back, too

Riding under the Bourne Bridge

And the Sagamore Bridge, too

On the Canal Bikeway

Bike Fishermen

Cape Cod Railway to the left

The siding is used for the tourist train to change direction

There used to be Y here

Riding the Bluff Point State Park

After the Trail Maintenance we set out to ride the trail and Cory took us on an outstanding tour of some of the best singletrack in Eastern Connecticut!

Bluff Point is cruel mistress and lends itself to all sorts of mechanicals.
One of our newest Trail Ambassadors got a stick in the spokes that destroyed his rear derailleur
It was the Walk of Shame for Joe.

Hot and Humid but having fun!

I even wound up with a flat!  My Serface Krest (rear tire) failed me!

Trail Maintenance at Bluff Point State Park

Great group of guys showed up at Bluff Point State Park for Trail Maintenance

Where else can you ride great singletrack and then afterwards hit the beach!

A few showers moved through the area before we were able to start working

Too bad more mountain bikers don't do this.

Jason brought the Bob Trailer so we could ride out to where we were working
